Prawns roast in a very traditional way. Spicy, simple and yummy. Even being allergic to prawns I cant resist myself from having a bite whenever I cook for him.
Ingredients:
- Prawns- 1/4 kg
- Onion-1 large,thinly sliced
- Tomato- 1 medium, chopped into wedges
- Green chillies-2,slit
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
- Red chilly powder-2 teaspoon
- Pepper powder-3 teaspoon
- Coriander powder-1 teaspoon
- Garam masala- 1/4 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder- a pinch
- Curry leaves- 10
- Salt-1-2 teaspoon, as required
- Think coconut milk- 1/2 cup
- Water-1/4 cup
- Oil- 3/4 tablespoon
- Clean and wash the prawns
- Marinate the prawns with 1 teaspoon each of pepper powder and chilly powder,1/2 teaspoon salt,turmeric powder and keep aside for around 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the prawns and keep aside
- To the same pan add onions and saute till soft
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell fades away
- Add slit green chillies, tomatoes along with ingredients 6-12 and mix well
- Add prawns,water and cook in low flame for 5 min.
- Check for salt and spice requirements and and if required
- Add coconut milk,cook in medium flame for 2 mins then on high flame till the water evaporates and masala becomes thick.
- Move to a serving dish.
