A spicy side dish loved by all. A perfect Malabari dish.
Ingredients:
- Chicken- 1/2 kg, any piece can be used, I used leg part
- Onion- 1 sliced
- Curry leaves- 10-15
- Chilly powder- 2 teaspoon
- Pepper powder- 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
- Ginger garlic paste- 2 teaspoon
- Lime juice- 2 teaspoon
- Salt-1-2 tablespoon,depending on requirement
- Oil- 1-2 tablespoon
- Make small slits in the chicken pieces with fork.
- Mix the spice ingredients together in a bowl(except onion and curry leaves)
- Add chicken pieces to the marinade and marinate thoroughly
- Keep aside for min 30 mins.
- Heat oil in pan
- Fry the chicken pieces till they turn dark brown on all sides.
- Drain and keep aside.
- To the same pan add the onion and curry leaves and saute till soft
- Mix the remaining marinade with little water and pour to the onion base.
- Mix well and add the fried chicken pieces, cover and cook till the gravy is thick
- Take care not to burn either the chicken or onion.
- Stir well till the water dries up.
- Garnish and serve!
