Achari Murgh as the name says ,is spicy as any pickle. Very much tempting chicken delicacy.
Ingredients:
- Chicken- 1/2 kg
- Onion- 2, very thinly sliced
- Green chillies- 4,slit
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tablespoon
- Red chilly powder- 2 teaspoon
- Salt- 1 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar- 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 teaspoon
- Cardamom- 2
- Cloves- 2
- Dried red chilli flakes- 1 teaspoon
- Asafoetida- a pinch
- Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds- 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice- 1 tablespoon
- Curd- 3/4 cup, beaten
- Oil- 1 tablespoon
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Water- 1/4 cup
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- When they splutter reduce heat and add ingredients 8-14 and fry for a while.
- Add the cut onions and saute till golden brown
- Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes away
- Add the chicken,green chillies, salt,red chillies, sugar,turmeric powder and fry for 2-3 mins on high flame
- Add curd and stir well, and let it boil.
- Cover and cook for another 10-15 mins till chicken is cooked
- Add the lime juice,boil for another 3 mins.
- Add water and stir well.
- Cook in high flame till the gravy becomes thick.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
